About this opportunity

The GrowthAfrica Accelerator 2022 is an annual program designed to help ambitious and committed entrepreneurs in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Ghana scale their ventures, become investment-ready, and develop their entrepreneurial leadership acumen. Founded in 2002, GrowthAfrica has a strong track record, having accelerated 224 ventures and worked with 436 entrepreneurs across 24 cohorts since 2012, creating over 30,000 jobs. The program's initial phase spans six months and includes 19 workshop-days, followed by bespoke in-company support from the GrowthAfrica team and mentors. This support helps participants identify and articulate growth challenges, and craft strategic growth plans. Subsequently, the focus shifts to implementing these interventions, building momentum for scaling, and accessing external capital. Participants benefit from a proprietary learning methodology focused on increasing revenue, profits, and impact, individualized support, peer-to-peer learning with entrepreneurs across Africa, investment support, access to Pan-African mentors and industry experts, financial modeling assistance, and leadership development. The accelerator targets post-revenue, for-profit businesses that have existed for two years or more, with a turnover exceeding USD 50,000, and are open to raising external investment. While open to all sectors, it has a soft spot for Agribusiness, Education, IT/mobile solutions/Tech-enabled businesses, Financial Services and Fintech, Renewable energy, Water & sanitation, Health, Manufacturing/processing, and Retail/e-commerce.
