About SPICE

Spice Without Borders is a Brooklyn-based media nonprofit that supports community organizers and change makers in their efforts to tell their own stories through photography, digital media, and social journalism. They work with marginalized communities, helping them build the capacity and skill to create content that shifts public perception, organizes for change, and impacts policy decisions. Their mission is to promote equitable knowledge exchange by empowering historically underrepresented groups to control the narratives that affect their lives. They believe that when marginalized communities are given the tools to tell their own stories, they can challenge dominant narratives and create a more just and equitable world. Their current projects are primarily focused in Kenya.
