Tech Journalism Fund

Applications for the Tech Journalism Fund are reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions made within 30 days.

Eligible applicants are US-based journalists — freelancers, staff writers, editors, or teams — working on stories about how technology and society intersect, especially topics like AI regulation, tech industry accountability, AI’s impact on youth, or tech and labor.

You can request $5,000 – $25,000 for travel, research, reporting time, or multimedia support. Submit your proposal through the Omidyar Network’s Tech Journalism Fund application form, outlining your story idea, budget, and timeline.
