GEC+Africa 2026 Regional Pitch Competition
About this opportunity
The GEC+Africa Regional Pitch Competition is a multi-country initiative designed for early-stage technology startups and post-revenue micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the African continent. Tech startups at the pre-seed or seed stage must have developed at least a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), while MSMEs are required to demonstrate existing revenue. The competition targets businesses with innovative, scalable solutions that address real problems with measurable impact. Participants will gain the opportunity to pitch to investors and ecosystem leaders, access potential funding and investment opportunities, and increase their visibility within the African startup ecosystem. Additionally, the program offers mentorship, strategic guidance, and networking opportunities with key stakeholders. Ten finalists will receive sponsored trips to Cape Town, South Africa, for the main GEC+Africa event, where the top three winners will share a $50,000 prize and have the chance to join an accelerator program. The competition features a three-tiered selection process, beginning with national bootcamps and culminating in a final pitching stage at the main congress.
How to apply
Applicants must submit detailed pitch decks. Those whose pitch decks are deemed suitable will be invited to pitch to judges. Successful applicants will then participate in preparation bootcamps before competing in their respective countries.
